10 Habits of Happy Couples

What does it take to be happy in a relationship? If you’re working to improve your marriage, here are the 10 habits of happy couples.
1. Go to bed at the same time
Remember the beginning of your relationship, when you couldn’t wait to go to bed with each other to make love? Happy couples resist the temptation to go to bed at different times. They go to bed at the same time, even if one partner wakes up later to do things while their partner sleeps. And when their skins touch it still causes each of them to tingle and unless one or both are completely exhausted to feel sexually excited.

What’s in a Kiss? The Power Of Kissing.

“Kiss me and you will see how important I am," Sylvia Plath wrote.
The erotic kiss (as opposed to the kiss of respect, friendship, courtesy, or parent-child) is recognized in most cultures around the world. The vast majority of adults all over the globe have experienced the awkwardness, excitement, confusion and pleasure of it. But one must admit that on its face the practice of kissing is more than a bit strange.

Nigerian News: Single-Storey Building That Houses 5 Nigerian Churches

If this is not a house of comotion, I don't know what else to call it.

Have you been invited to a Church where sermon is going on and religious songs from other denominations start filtering in? That perhaps explain this situation or how best can one explain the presence of six religious bodies in one single structure.

This building is a site opposite the popular Sky Memorial Plaza in Abuja. Whatever the motive behind the siting of each denomination - mere representation, for-profit, direction of the Holy Spirit or intended strategy to be seen in the nation's capital, one can imagine what it is going to be like on a Sunday.

What do you think?

32-yr-old man butchers uncle over destiny manipulation

ABAKALIKI— A man identified as Chinweoru Ugbo, 32, was weekend arrested by the Onueke Divisional Police Command, Ebonyi State for allegedly butchering his uncle, Mr. Ogbuleji Nwite, 78, with an axe.
The crime was allegedly committed at Nsokkara Community in Ezza South Local Government Area of the state over claims that the deceased was diabolically manipulating Ugbo’s destiny.
The suspect allegedly lured his victim to a lonely farmland near a neighbouring community in Amagu, under the guise of showing him (the victim) a piece of land he wanted to purchase.
He reportedly inflicted 27 cuts on late Mr. Nwite in the early hours of Saturday, unaware that some people saw him.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect was caught by the villagers at Igweledoha Nsokkara community, when he was packing his luggage to flee the community.
It was also learnt that the suspect, a trader resident at Owerri in Imo State, was said to have returned home on Friday night with the intention of killing his uncle.
Eyewitnesses’ story
An eyewitness, Nweke Nwankwo, alleged that the act took place in a vegetable farmland.
The witness said: “I was on top of a palm tree harvesting fruits and saw both of them conversing. I never suspected anything because they were relatives.
“But I felt cold to the spine when the boy started brutalising the old man, who recently returned from the hospital after an eye surgery.”
Another witness, a woman who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that she was weeding in her farm, some distance from the scene, when she heard a cry.
She said: “I did not know that an abomination was being committed because the loud shout was just once.
“I continued with my job until passers-by, who first sighted the dead body, raised alarm.”
It was learnt that a white T-shirt, which an eyewitness claimed the suspect wore that morning, was brought out from his room with blood stains.

Nigerian News: ASUU VS FEDERAL GOVT.

Varsity teachers remained adamant last night, saying their strike would go on, despite the government’s shifting of its position. The strike has been on for four months.

More cash has been pledged for projects on the campuses. Besides, the earned allowances due to the teachers have been increased from the initial N30 billion offer, which the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) rejected. The teachers are insisting on the 2009 agreement, which they say President Goodluck Jonathan was part of. Besides, they say, they do not trust the government.
According to a circular by the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Prof. Bolaji Aluko, to the staff of the school, quoted yesterday by the news website, Sahara Reporters, the government has pledged to spend N200 billion on the universities in the 2014 budget and the same amount annually for the next three to four years.
This is in addition to the N100 billion already made available this year, but which ASUU has rejected.
The government has also increased to N40 billion, as a first installment, funds for the payment of earned allowances to the striking lecturers – an improvement from the N30 billion previously released.
On the earned allowances, Aluko said: “Government will top it up with further releases once universities are through with the disbursement of this new figure of N40 million. So, Vice-Chancellors are urged to expedite this disbursement within the shortest possible time using guiding templates that have been sent by the CVC,” the circular said.
Aluko said the latest development followed meetings on September 19 and Oct 11 of representatives of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, led by its Chairman, Prof. Hamisu of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) and ASUU representatives led by its President, Dr.Nasir Fagge, with Vice-President Namadi Sambo and Minister of Education Nyesome Wike.
A source in the Ministry of Education last night also confirmed that the meeting took place.
“But the government decided to leave the announcement of the decision to the ASUU chiefs,” the source said.
It was gathered that Sambo urged ASUU to call off the strike, as he apologised for the “take-it-or-leave-it” comments credited to Minister of Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at the beginning of the strike. The Minister did not seem to have been involved in either meeting, perhaps as the government’s way of soothing the feelings of the university teachers.
Other points of agreement at the meetings include:
•Project Prioritisation: Universities will now be allowed to determine their priorities and not be “rail-roaded” into implementing a pre-determined set of projects with respect to the NEEDS assessment. Decisions are not to be centralized;
•TETFund Intervention: The government assured the teachers that the operations of the TETFund will not be impaired, and that the regular TETFund intervention disbursement to universities will continue, unaffected. So the NEEDS assessment capital outlays are in addition to regular TETFund intervention;
•Project Monitoring: A new Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) for the NEEDS Assessment intervention for universities has been set up to take over from the Suswam Committee. The new one is under the Federal Ministry of Education and chaired by the Minister of Education. In addition, to build confidence and ensure faithful implementation and prevent any relapse as before, the Vice President will meet quarterly with the implementors to monitor progress.
.Blueprint: ASUU was mandated to submit a blueprint for revitalising the universities to the Vice President.
Prof. Aluko stated that a signed document will soon be issued to itemise the full issues on which the consensus was reached.
But ASUU last night was unimpressed with the new offer. National Treasurer Dr. Ademola Aremu said the offer failed to meet the teachers’ expectations.
He said the offer falls short of the agreement signed with ASUU by the government.
Aremu insisted that ASUU would not end the strike until the 2009 agreement is fully implemented by injecting N500 billion into the universities yearly to shore up the system’s quality.
Aremu, who spoke to our correspondent on the telephone, said any offer below what is contained in the signed agreement, would amount to unilateral repudiation of an agreement the government willingly signed in 2009.
According to the unionist, ASUU is not making any new demand, but a mere implementation of an agreement. He pointed out that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by both parties in 2009 stated that the government would commit N1.5 trillion to the system in three years.
He said: “ Even if the Federal Government made that promise, it would be a unilateral repudiation of the 2009 agreement. By now, the government should have injected N500 billion. That amounts to N100 billion in 2012 and N400 billion in the current year.
“As a matter of fact, any new commitment from the Federal Government is belated. Implementation of the agreement ought to have started before this year. I don’t think there is any way we can trust this government, going by its past behaviour on this issue.
“The mandate from our principal as at the last time we met was that we won’t end the strike until the agreement is fully implemented.
“We do not need promises again. What we need now is actual implementation. What if they do not release the funds again after making the promise?
“It was this same Mr President that mid-wifed the agreement in 2009 when he was the Vice President. The MoU was in his custody. He studied the agreement well before asking then President Umaru Yar’Adua to sign it. We can’t trust this government.

The Best Way To Make Money! The Power Of Your Mind

If you have read and understood “MONEY OR VALUE” and you have chosen that way, the next thing on your mind should be “The best way to make money.”

If you want to make money, you need to ask yourself some questions and make some necessary research. For example in a city like Lagos or Abuja where the combined population is over 20 million people and on the average a person spends 150 naira on food in a day. That will come to a total of  3 billion naira spent on food every day.

When people say there is no money in town, they may not be stating the truth. The truth is that there is money, but they have not been able to see it. Because you do not see money with your eyes, you see it with your mind.

Let us take our illustration a little further. The supposed 20 million people in both cities need houses to live in. Those houses are built with cement, gravel, sand, iron rods and roofing sheets. These things cost money to buy. But it is those who are selling them that make the money.

Each of the 20 million people puts on at least two pieces of cloth per day. They wear around 20 million pairs of shoes. They brush their teeth everyday with toothbrushes and toothpaste. Most of them use soap for their bath and wash their clothes. May be 70% of them move from one part of the city to the other every day. They sleep on beds which have mattresses, which need bed sheets and pillow cases. The children within the population need to go to school.
Can you see how to make money now?

What you have to do is to solve a particular kind of problem for a fraction of the people in you can by giving or adding value and money will flow in your direction. By the way, we describe the money spent in a country as its currency. Currency describes a current or something that flows. Actually, money flows. Each time you spend money, someone makes money. Why not be the one making the money? It is now your turn to prosper. Write down your own goals and work towards creating value and problems you are to solve for people.

It may not work out the way you expected the first time, but with persistence, determination and the
willingness to learn along the way, you will achieve your goals.
Another thing you should be mindful of is the fact that you will make mistakes. But do not be afraid, all you need to do is learn from your mistakes.

"Have no fear of perfection - because no one ever reaches it."

Money OR Value? Which is more Important?

When money comes into your life, it likes to take the first place and alter what you think about it you begin to worship it.

But “No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot make a honest living without creating real value for money.

Money must never take the first place in your life. Settle that forever, and you will be a great success.

“The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" for which many have strayed from and pursued money instead of value in their greediness and pierced themselves through with alot of failure”.

If I were to have something to say to the young generation of Nigerians today, it will be this; “Money is only a means of exchange. If you want to break free from poverty, keep this at the back of your mind. "You will not get something for nothing."

Because there has been so much poverty and deprivation in our society today, due to mismanagement and the greed of some other people, many people want to survive at all cost. People want to make money by all means.

But note this, when it comes to the issue of money, except you bring something that has value, something that has worth, something that is usable that will meet a need in somebody’s life to the market place or the place of exchange, you will not get money.

It is not the absence of money that makes a person poor, it is the absence of value.

If you fall into the trap of making money illegally like many people have, it will distort your values and then redefine wisdom for you. For someone who is in love with money and who wants to get it at all cost, ‘money is the beginning of wisdom and whatever he has to do to get it, is right’. Whatever will not bring it is what is wrong. So today we have people who are hurting other people and even killing others to make money.

If you want to put money where it belongs in your life, sacrifice is the key. Making money is not as important as getting value. Without value, every money you make will seem useless.

Myles Munroe said “If the value of a thing is not known, the abuse of it is inevitable.” I realised that ultimately, what you will be abusing is your own life.

This is a great gift for you. It is absolutely free and life-changing!! Do not think about it, just Try and create value!!!

You will succeed!

Nigerian News: Is Gov. Sullivan Chime Inhumane,Cruel and Heartless?

This is a shocking report from the Enugu State government house. Found it on Sahara Reporters.

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Gov. Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to human rights bodies to rescue her.
In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime (pictured above with Governor Chime) disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in Oct. 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years. Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.
“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house.  He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.

The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”
The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding.  However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.
“He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in.  I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed
his securities to lock me inside the house.”
Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.

Of the situation in Government House, she said, “He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings,” she said in the letter.  He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from.”
She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
“Police and SS men have been instructed by Br Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises,” she said, begging, “Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me.”

Nigerian News: Stella Oduah Got 4 Limousines & 4 Toyota Tundra Cars From NAMA

According to Sahara Reporter, Nigeria’s minister of aviation Stella Oduah who is yet to recover from a N255 million bullet proof BMW scandal has been hit with yet a similar scandal.

The new case revealed that NAMA (Nigeria’s National Airspace Management Agency) has just bought 4 set of powerful Toyota Tundra vehicles and 4 limousine car for her.

The big madam who recently got the delivery of the 2 armoured BMW is on the verge of losing her job as anti corruption network vows to protest.

The Tundras are in addition to four stretch limousine cars that were allegedly purchased for the movement of VIPs.

Saharareporters obtained the photos of the Limousines, which were parked at the headquarters of the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) grounds in Abuja today.

Efforts to get the NAMA spokesperson, Supo Atobatele, to comment on the fresh allegations proved abortive as he claimed he was driving and could not speak on the wheel. When later confronted with the facts, Mr. Atobatele denied the existence of the stretch limos claiming that NAMA is a “professional agency” that provides navigational aid to aircrafts flying within Nigeria’s airspace. He hung  up and switched off his phone when further told that Saharareporters had the photos.\

NAMA’s CEO, Nnamdi Udo, reportedly made the purchase and ‘donation’ of the Tundras to the Minister in June 2013. The four Limousines were received in the third week of June but have never been put to use.
photo
After the purchase of the two BMW armored cars for the Minister was revealed, her aides and the Managing Director of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Fola Akinkuotu, claimed the vehicles were meant for VIP movement, but a former lawmaker and leader of Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye, told SaharaReporters that it is the duty of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to transport international VIPs in Nigeria.

He also revealed that the most important Aviation inspectors are teams from the ICAO who already have a Nigerian office which handles all their transactions.

SaharaReporters could not confirm if the NAMA limos are armored. It is also unclear why NAMA, an agency believed to be cash-strapped, would need stretch limos that are normally used by celebrities, to ferry international VIPS.

Meanwhile, a high-level source has confirmed to SaharaReporters that the Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria, which Mrs. Oduah brags about as one of her achievements in office, provides epileptic service, because it often breaks down, the objective of establishing a safer national airspace is said to have been compromised. Foreign airlines are said to rely on their built in navigational equipment for air safety within the Nigerian airspace.

Nigerian News: ASUU strike ‘ll be over in few months – Minister

The Federal Government, yesterday, assured Nigerian students that the ongoing strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, would be over in a few months.

The Minister of Education, Mr Nyesom Wike stated this at the anniversary lecture of National Universities Commission, NUC, in Abuja.

The minister who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Macjohn Nwaobiala, reiterated Federal Government commitment in resolving the ongoing strike of ASUU.
Minister of State for Eduction, Barrister Esenwo Nyesom Wike

According to Wike, “The Federal Government is very concerned about the state of public tertiary institutions in the country. The Federal Government is really worried about the ongoing strike of ASUU and the strike would be resolved in a few months.”

Professor John Daniel in his paper presentation titled, ‘Turbulent and Testing Times for Global Higher Education: Lessons for Nigeria’, said “online teaching and learning is now part of the future of most universities. Nigeria should be very good at this because without embarrassing you by pressing the point, I note that your country, through 419 scams, is a world leader in the use of the internet for less desirable purposes.”

He said higher education all over the world is facing lot of challenges that included youth unemployment and the current changes in the university system.

“These are indeed turbulent times, not only for United States of America but also for much of higher education globally”, he said.

A former Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Jubril Munzali, in his goodwill message, said the education sector for 21 years have been under funded and the significant increase in the funding of tertiary institutions were done through the struggle of ASUU.

He blamed the Federal Government lingering crisis rocking the nation’s university system.

He said it is time Federal Government listened to its agencies and allow NUC perform its statutory role and fund universities based on the advice of its agencies like NUC.

“Successive administrations in the country never paid adequate attention to university education”. He said the Federal Government process of direct funding of universities, have over the years resulted in mismanagement of the funds allocated to the institutions.

Police stop ASUU rally in Bayelsa

Police authorities in Bayelsa State, yesterday, stopped the planned public protest by lecturers of the state owned Niger Delta University, NDU, Amassoma in the prolonged strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The police order, issued against the planned public procession by the ASUU, NDU chapter, was reportedly signed by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hillary Okpara.

But the undaunted lecturers converged at the Yenagoa campus of the university to stage solidarity rally and also held a prayer session to seek the face of God over the lingering crisis.

Fine City, Fine girls, But Don't Touch

Dubai is a place to be. And that could be an understatement. It is my first time in the United Arab Emirates, the country that prides itself as the home of the world.

Everything here is heavenly. The roads are just wonderful. It is a beautiful haven. Coming from Lagos to this part of the world has been an eye-opening experience. Everything is just too fine here to be true for a Lagosian like me, where dirt is a stark reality of life. On the roads, their cars are a sight to behold. They love white cars a lot.

Everywhere you go you see clean white cars gliding through the roads. And the white cars are such a beauty to behold.

In Lagos, people avoid white cars because of dusts and mud on the roads.. A colleague here was so taken aback after seeing these clean white cars that he wondered aloud if these same cars can remain in such excellent condition in Warri, Enugu, Lagos and other Nigerian cities.

Fine city, fine girls, but don’t touch

We are in the United Arab Emirates, touted as a tourist and business destination of the world. Fine things abound here. This is a place where citizens of the world work, live and play. But there is a limit to everything that you see here. These people have their rules, which are not clearly laid out. You get to understand them when you act contrary to their rules.

A tip of it was gotten yesterday when we attempted to check into a hotel in Deira, a little bit outside the city Dubai.

After formailsing everything, two of my colleagues, went up to check the rooms, leaving me and another at the lobby. My friend sighted a beautiful lady, some seats away from us. He admired her. As I made my way upstairs, I was compelled to say hello to the lady and she responded with “I’m fine”. She later told me that she’s from the Comoros.. My friend, who works for a television station in the Niger Delta, now came around and as I introduced him to the lady, he stretched out his hand for a handshake but the lady did not offer hers.

He did not know that he was being watched by the receptionist, who later charged at him angrily for trying to shake the hand of the lady.

At that moment, he canceled our booking, telling us to go and look for another hotel elsewhere. He said in the city, you can admire the girls but you dare not touch them in public. We tried to plead for leniency but he was adamant. To him, my friend had crossed the line and deserved no mercy but to go out. He also told us that we were not spared from the punishment. I was shocked and as we made our way out, someone told my friend that Dubai is a fine city with fine guys but you don’t touch them in the public. Lesson learnt.
